Terms of Service
Last updated 1 September 2026. These terms govern contributions to the SponsorMyStuff campaign.
1. Service description
SponsorMyStuff is a project of JBW Unipessoal LDA (previously trading as Jackie Brown Works or JBW), a company registered in Portugal, VAT/NIF PT516963929 ("we", "us"). It runs a single sponsorship campaign for placement on one physical water bottle taken to Web Summit Lisbon 2026 and other events.
2. No account required
There are no accounts, passwords, or logins. A sponsor is identified solely by its normalized website address - submitting the same website again always resolves to the same sponsor, regardless of the email used.
3. Contributions and ranking
Contributions are denominated in US dollars and must be whole dollars - amounts including cents are not accepted - with a minimum of $5 to start or top up. A new contribution only charges the difference between your sponsor's existing total and your new target. Ranking is by cumulative confirmed total per sponsor, highest first. The backend is the sole source of truth for totals and ranking, and rankings may change at any time before payment completes.
4. Payment
Payments are processed via Stripe Checkout as one-time charges. SponsorMyStuff never sees or stores your card details. All amounts shown are net of tax; any applicable VAT or sales tax is calculated at checkout and added on top, so the total charged may exceed your contribution. The contribution recorded for ranking is always the net amount.
5. Sticker eligibility and placement
The 15 sponsors with the highest cumulative confirmed totals receive a physical numbered sticker on the bottle; rank can change as other sponsors contribute. Physical sticker placement is determined and applied manually by the SponsorMyStuff founder.
6. Logo and content rights
By submitting a logo, you confirm you have the right to use it and grant JBW Unipessoal LDA a non-exclusive licence to display it on the site, in the sponsor directory, and on the physical bottle for the duration of the campaign and in photographs of the bottle afterwards.
7. Acceptable use
Submitted logos, company names, and descriptions must not be unlawful, infringing, or misleading.
8. No refunds
Contributions are final and non-refundable, even if another sponsor's total later overtakes yours. Nothing here removes rights you have under mandatory consumer law; if you are contracting as a consumer in the EU rather than as a business, statutory withdrawal rights may apply and are not excluded by this clause.
9. Campaign changes and cancellation
We may adjust campaign configuration (closing date, sticker capacity, minimum contribution) before the campaign closes. If the campaign is cancelled before the bottle is produced, confirmed contributions are refunded.
10. Intellectual property
The SponsorMyStuff name, site, and campaign concept remain the property of JBW Unipessoal LDA. Your logo and trade marks remain yours.
11. Liability
Our liability is limited to the total amount paid by the sponsor, except where liability cannot be limited by law - including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and for fraud.
12. Termination
We may remove a submission that violates these terms. Where we do so for a reason within your control, the contribution is not refunded.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law, and the courts of Portugal have jurisdiction. If you contract as a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, nor of your right to bring proceedings there.
14. Data protection
JBW Unipessoal LDA is the data controller for personal data processed through this site. What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to exercise your GDPR rights are set out in the Privacy Policy. A plain-English summary of how bidding and ranking work is on the Rules page; where that page and these terms differ, these terms apply.
